Projects
Shown Above Are Various Projects I Completed During My Time At JEA
All Projects Have Been Altered To Meet The Proprietary Standards Of JEA
As the Gas System Engineering Co-op at JEA, I:
-
Designed construction plans & procedures for natural gas pipeline infrastructure using AutoCAD
-
Presented detailed project cost estimations & assisted with assorted cost analyses
-
With each project, I created a bill of materials, provided an estimate of the labor needed, and reviewed previous expenditure reports.
-
-
Prepared permits & provided comprehensive documentation of projects for regulatory agencies
-
Developed productive daily practices for effective project management in the Gas Co-op position
-
I created a spreadsheet that keeps track of each project that is in someone else's hands (i.e. giving a project to a P.E. at a certain date & time for review, awaiting a permit from TDOT, etc.)
-
Similarly, I created a condensed continually-updating project list that was used to highlight the stage in which each project is in. In biweekly project meetings, my supervisors and I used this list to allocate tasks for each engineer.
-
-
Designed gas meter set assemblies for residential, commercial, and industrial customers
-
Performed research for projects such as field measurements, GPS surveying, & site inspections
-
Depending on the project, I would have to gather field measurements using a Bosch Laser Measure Tool, a Micrometer, a Trimble Total Station to gather data needed for AutoCAD drawings.
-
-
Efficiently communicated with Professional Engineers, senior management, & construction crews
-
Performed data acquisition techniques via ArcGIS using path tracing & valve isolation applications
-
Trained new engineering co-op students & thoroughly revised co-op onboarding manual
-
I trained the new JEA Gas System Engineering Co-op over a period of three months (May 2019 - July 2019) to ensure their proficiency in the position.
-
I overhauled the existing, outdated co-op manual with a thorough handbook to help new co-op students easily transition into the position.
